NW IL | Moisture on the Atlantic coast could be a trending a bit high due to a few large soaker hurricanes in the last couple decades.
I'm guessing its going off of '71 for the even 50-years, and/or because of some standardization in precipitation or temp recording. Snow can be especially tricky to measure moisture amounts with and different regions might have been using different methods for a while.
Would be interesting to see how a water table map would compare. | |
