I like the butterfly gates on my Gooseneck cattle trailer. But I find it easier to latch the horizontal pin if the trailer on level ground. Any little unevenness in the area where I loading out at makes the gates hard to latch. Sometimes I have to latch the rods for each gate in the floor at the end of the trailer and pull the truck and trailer up some where the ground is more level to latch the pin in both gates.
