| Always had one in our kitchen, too. Grandpa had one that he could see from the kitchen - chose to set it in the living room, and at the same time set the kitchen table so that you were looking into the living room toward the TV.
That's just part of that era of farming, and still is if you get your news from the TV. The TV always had the news on if there was any news. In the evening, after the news is over if you don't have to go back out to work, you turn on the scanner and sit down and talk over the bears of the day. | |
