Subject: RE: Growing sunflowers?

SE North Dakota
We have been growing flowers for a few years now. Hit and miss yields due to weather. Have some contracts this year for 19 cents on oils and 28 on confections. Yields have been anywhere from 1000 to 2500 lbs depends on weather. They are very susceptible to disease and white mold which the last couple years has been showing up in the soybeans. The way my beans look this year on old sunflower ground makes me question if it’s even worth planting them anymore. Pretty sure we have wrecked some ground now for quite some time. Looking like took a 60bu bean crop and turned it into a 20. Fields are just brown now from all the white mold on these fields.
