Sunnyvale, CA | the Deere system uses the CAN bus to talk to the ATU, and the Trimble EZ-Guide 500 talks to the EZ-Steer motor through the EZ-Steer controller. At its heart, the Deere ATU uses a stepper motor, and the EZ-Steer uses a brush DC motor. The requirements for driving each are very different.
There are other system differences, for instance, the EZ-Steer controller has two gyros and two accelerometers (the T2 upgrade, built into the EZ-Steer 500) and the Deere ATU relies on the accelerometer in the Deere iTC receiver. | |
