Just because you can fit the small band on does not mean it is wise to do so. On a newborn to week old calf there is so little tissue for the band to deal with that you will not get an open wound and have to worry about tetanus. After that there is more tissue and the band may cut through and create an open wound (with compromised blood supply) before scrotum falls off and the risk of tetanus is there....... |
