Ratchet straps or ropes for tie downs?


Couple years ago we replaced the tarps on ours.    We always had ratchet straps for the tie downs on the sides but the old tarps had ropes on the ends to pull it tight end to end.


The new tarps have a pocket sewn in them that you slide PVC pipe into and use ratchet straps from the PVC pipe to the end pipe to stretch it tight.

That worked much better than trying to pull it tight with rope.    Hopefully the replacement covers last as long as the originals that were 17 yrs old.
