New Mexico | Dena Gray Fisher who spoke for the DOT at the end of the article perhaps mislead a couple points:
DOT is not supposed to be stopping private vehicles at random ( just like the Highway Patrol....there is supposed to be "probable cause," ie light out, speeding or something ).
The couple victimized in this deal was actually stopped out of supposed curiosity by the DOT officer, as to what? their trailer was used for.
Since the trailer had a valid plate....it does mot matter what the trailer was designed to haul. Trailer had a valid plate...that simple.
Perhaps the Feds should to visit the Iowa DOT.
Charges mentioned might be:
1. Color of Law.
2. Misprision of a Felon.
3. Malfeasance of Office.
