SE IL Mt.Erie, IL | A frequency coordinator has given me a frequency for my trimble base station in the 450 mhz range that is the same as a voice system being used 33 miles away from me. It is another farm using the freq with only 25 watts with a 30' tower. The terrain is relatively flat but has plenty of timber and fencerows between us. This is the one they think I should use and so do I.
The other freq they gave is a co op 33 miles away also in another direction that uses a repeater and has tower heights of 75'.
They tell me voice systems will "walk" on data systems causing troubles I cannot cure.
Should I have any trouble with him causing me interference at that distance or is that fairly safe? I plan on operating within 5 miles of my base most of the time and have only a few fields further than that and in the opposite direction.
Thanks for the help, Curt
