Southern Alberta | They are really handy.
The loading arm that picks up the bales is the weak link. Later models had a square tubing on the arm and were much stronger. The early models with the round steel tubing were ok once beefed up with the welder and more steel. Bales need to be lifted slow. Fast loading with the bale arm tended to put much more strain on it.
The bales do not separate very well when unloading, they rows tend to almost touch. Freezing together can be a problem.
Overall they are simple fast machines. Suspension is a bonus. | |
