A bit of help on the oiling on the newer saws -- although it might or might not turn it into an oily abuser. Using a hook and pick set, reach down into the oil tank with the hook and grab the oil line. Pull it up to the tank fill hole and then take a pick and jab some larger holes in the screen. Use caution, that damned screen is tough and you can stick the pick in your hand if you're not careful, btdt. It helped quite a bit on a 290, should help on your saw as well. As to the original poster, if your saw has an adjustment for the amount of oil applied, it will be on the bottom of the saw and will be a recessed screw that has a little symbol next to it that indicates "less to more". Turn toward the more. More than likely most small saws aren't adjustable unless they're really old. The newer "PRO" models have adjustable oilers and compression releases. |
