Warm water on a soft cloth or tissue and rub their bum so they’ll poop and pee. Do it every time you feed them.
I’ve raised a couple batches and they were both different. The first batch were easy, aggressive nursers that ate well. That was 14 years ago so there’s only one left now. Last batch, a couple years ago now, you just about had to put kitten in a glove or something to control them so they would quit scratching and biting the nipple and settle in and nurse. That went on until we transitioned them to lapping it up from a pan. They never quit it.
If you have them as house cats, some out of each litter never lost the desire to nurse on something and could be a pest. An outdoor cat won’t have that problem. | |
