Subject: NH 450 & Harvest Tech?

I finally got a Harvest Tech 300 automatic crop saver iinstalled on my baler. I used it for the first time today. I checked the field before I started baling. My Delmhorst tester with the pin probe said the hay was between 9% and 18%. It felt about rite to me. When I started making a bale the I_Pad 's moisture read close to the Delmhorst read. When the bale size got to around 30 inches the moisture started climbing. When the bale was about 50 inches or so the I pad read as high as 50% on some bales Others it was in the 30%+ range.. It wasn't an even smooth climb. It was kind of jerky. I find it hard to believe that the hay is half water.

I only did a small amount about 25 bales. I still have about 150 acres to cut and bale. I am trying to decide if I should go back to the old way and bale by the way hay felt, or is this high tech modern stuff better.
