When using the EZ-Steer with the + lightbar, you could turn off the T2. Then it didn't matter how the box was mounted. Don't know if you can still do that with the 500? If you could, it would soon tell you if the box mounting was bad or if there was a faulty gyro or accelerometer that was causing grief.
