Not sure about the Kodak software, but nearly any photo or graphic image editing program will let you set the compression level for .jpg files--the most common file format for pictures.

The trick, usually, is to use File > Save As... and, when given an option for the file type to save, choose .jpg, but also notice if there is an Options button, etc., which will give you access to controls for how much to compress the file. (Some other formats, like .png also have compression options.)

As DG said, it's easy to reduce files by a lot. You'll also be reducing their overall quality, but that's unavoidable.

Warning: When you do the Save As, save under a *different* filename, or you'll overwrite your "master" phote file that contains all the original, uncompressed detail with one that has lost a lot of detail.
