Grandfield, Ok.
Pete is just another truck. How it was specked out makes all the difference in the world. Rattling windows and doors will make you think any truck is junk.
Chalmers, mack Camelback, Hendricksson walking beam or rubber pad suspension will all ride like a log wagon and beat the bed off a truck.
This late in the game find something that will get you thru harvest and keep looking for your dream pete.
Have owned all brands, freightliner gives the best bang for the money. International at one time built a good truck today that's questionable. Their parts have became outlandish and local dealer leaves a lot to be desired.
Mack's now are rebadged volvos. K whoppers are good except the 8 bag suspension is not great for body loading.
Oh by the way I stay in one for only 16 hours per day now for 4 to 8 months on and off road. That is 7 days per week.
Currently putting a pete together with freightliner rear suspension because it holds up better than any pete suspension. The truck is double framed from front to back. Witk the bed mounted empty weight should be 34,000 loaded 54m plus on 3 axles.
