Western illinois | Funny story about that. Probably 40 years ago a couple of car loads of us went out for a good time about 30 miles away. It was winter time and one of the cars stalled about 2/3 home. Ran out of juice. Luckily the other car had a set of jumpers, well more like alligator clips with wire. We pulled around to the front of the dead car and jumped it at a rural stop sign on the highway. Got it going and took off. Got about 4 miles and died again. Right on the highway, probably 2 am. Pulled the other car around to it, hood to hood and jumped it again. Got it started and took off. Yep, got another 2-3 miles and dead again. We said screw it, put it in neutral. We took the other car and pushed it the rest of the way to town and home into the garage. Snow on the ground and a good moon, so didn’t really need lights anyway. Oh, the good old days. | |
