It would be best to name the field and then choose it from the menu but start a new event. See page 5 step 6. http://trl.trimble.com/docushare/dsweb/Get/Document-505044/78838-00...
The issue will be you can’t see previous event coverage. There may actually be a way to use the same event but switch materials if they are not overlapping. Also, by selecting the same field you will have access to the guidance lines, but they may need nudged a little if on WAAS.
