Subject: RE: corn acres north of I-80

Pierce county WI
That BIG rain event wasn't a wide spread big soaker. I was south and North of 80 in Iowa today. Massive rainfall around Iowa City/cedar rapids. Places farther north it didn't look like it rained. At home we were under stuff on the radar since last night. No much............... If we have a Goldilocks growing season from here on out, there's going to be a big crop. If this is it for rain for the next couple weeks like they say, yields will go fast especially in Illinois. When the yards are brown, and the ditches are also, before tasseling- you got a long way to go, and you've been burning reserves. So the vast majority of the US corn crop is going to pollinate in above average temps, and below average precipitation. Take 5 bu away from the the 178.9 and you are sub 2 billion carryout. You really expect higher than 178.9? Ethanol is back up to 90% already, feed demand is strong, and exports have been doing well lately. But hey, we all like to gamble.........
