I usually don’t see squirrel damage until much later in the year, around harvest time.

I’ll see little trail of corn and leaves leading into the woods. If I’m sitting in a tree stand during archery season I’ll see little squirrels dragging whole ears of corn back to the nests.

It’s actually pretty good entertainment watching them, especially when another one comes over and they start to fight. Lol

I use cayenne pepper in my home garden but that’s a much small area than you’re talking about.
