| Basis gain for me from delivering locally up to 10 miles at harvest vs going to terminal 50 miles away the following spring/ summer is typically a 50 cent gain and costs about 10 cents more to get it there outside of harvest so a 40 cent gain on top of the 20 to 28 cent carry. I could see where it wouldn't be worth the effort if you are setting up augers to small bins and you have to sweep them manually but a 50k bu bin with a power sweep is definitely worth it in my area because of the basis gain. | |
