Ohio | Anyone can set up a Gofundme for any reason. Me personally, I would not want one set up for myself without saying it’s okay. Take that into consideration. For the people saying you should do it at a bank or somewhere that doesn’t charge fees, while I agree the fees add up, Gofundme gets the word out so much easier and it’s so convenient. About a year ago, a local lady lost her life in a car accident. 4 young boys and a husband. Known around the community. They raised $100,000 on Gofundme in less than 2 weeks. Everyone’s emotions were high and everyone was thinking, what if that would have been me with my kids. I myself even donated. Didn’t know them whatsoever. But with two young kids myself. It pulled at my heart strings. Type in my credit card number and I can put in whatever amount I choose. I never would have called the bank and donated. Continence is worth something.
