Not sure what power KOMA put out, but listened nightly USMC 29 Palms Calif. Drove essentially non stop Calif to Topeka KS on Xmas leave. Burnt out on "Green Tambourine", and "Judy in Disguise"

I was in the rest room at a bar in Mankato Minnesota when Judy is Disguise came on. The guy in the urinal next to me asked it I had ever heard that song. I said sure many times. He said he was the drummer for John Fred and the Playboy band. Don't know if he was or not but he may have been my brush with fame.

I listen to KQ for the 500 countdown also. I remember KOMA, WLS, and KAAY from my high school days of listening to AM at night.
