Way hotter than this year in Kansas, 1934 and 1936 were the alltime records. 1980.........Wichita had 42 straights days over 100, that was a killer summer. 1988 and 1990 were hot, 2011 smoked the pollination on the corn, a July 5 rain, just in time to keep the plants alive, but the pollen and silks were already shot. We didn't even put the corn head on in 2011.
