You are - - - - your discbine is a flail cutter with the axis of rotation on the flails being vertical. The older flail cutters - - - often used many years ago for green chop had the axis of rotation on the flails horizontal.
Kind of but I've never seen a flail cutter cut anything as cleanly as a disc mower cuts.
