For one, leave the brush in. It keeps net from wrapping steel roll. I tried without it too, it's better to clean it once in a while than pull 80 feet of net wrap off of it. Get your book out and go through EVERY adjustment at the beginning of the year. It's no different than a knotter, you can't overcompensate one adjustment to make up for another misadjustment! Sharpen knife with a kitchen knife sharpener not a hand file, HUGE difference and easier. Adjust rubber roll pressure springs with actuator EXTENDED, big difference. Don't use over the edge wrap? Cut the spirals off, much easier to clean when wrap does get on that roll. Don't just bolt knife up, check clearance against counterknife. I could get a wrap drive belt and brake without any adjustments through a whole year of stalk baling and that's over 6000 bales. Could do over 900 in a day with good weather, a breeze at night to keep the dew off and enough windrows ahead of me
