Wisconsin | 1/2" is so common because it's a good compromise, have that on hand and you can fix most hoses with a few spares kept around. Hydraulic pressures are obviously going up, you don't see nearly as many 3/4" hoses anymore on pulled equipment. The extra pressure loss is small, and the systems are designed to deal with the heat. A smaller hose of the same construction will have a higher burst pressure. | |
