primer. BIN is a really good one but I don't like to brush it because it dries too quickly. There are tons of others that should work equally as well for you but with a brush. I redid some cabinets that turned out really nice, steps were degrease, degloss, scuff, spray BIN prime, sand vey light, top coat with a little sanding between coats, décor glaze hand rubbed and finally a satin clear poly to lock it in. These were our kitchen island cabs so they need some extra protection. I used Ben Moore Advanced cab paint, expensive but good.
