A merchandiser mentioned this once and if one thinks about it long enough it sort of makes sense, but the market looks at it like that money just got added to the unsold bushel so the producer now has extra money and would be willing to sell at a lower price to maintain the same amount of money received in the end. Probably not a one for one match but likely some physiological merit to it.
