south east SD | Had a front load that lasted 10 years and was water efficient. Wife kinda fought with the right soap and other things.
This winter she had a large load of something in it and it made a horrible noise at fast speed pushing water out, we ran in and shut if off. Did a smaller load and it didn't sound very good and we knew it was time to go.
She didn't want another front load, tired of bending down to do stuff. I was in a fair sized town the next day with a good appliance store that we use. Walked in and talked to the lady who has been there for years. Told her I wanted a good top load wash machine and dryer, I'm a farmer and things get dirty. She walked over to TC5000WN Speed Queen. She said she has a bunch out to farmers and had good luck. Around $2000 for the pair. Could have spent half that on a cheap set, but she said she wouldn't even think selling that to me. Also I'll say money was no object. Happy wife, happy life!!
Called the wife and sent pictures, she looked on the internet and she said buy it, wasn't gonna drive 25 miles one way to look at it. We replaced both because the dryer I had replaced 2 belts and it was starting to squeak more and more.
Her words.
She really likes it, it's fast and has good basic features. Really happy with the top load and the choices of soap is better. Probably uses more water but we don't care.
Good luck
