Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I'm not certain since I don't actually use one. I'm just going from past memory when I worked as a Tech several years ago. I don't know what style of rig you have. If it is a type that has a gate setting, increasing the gate setting will reduce the reaction time as the valve won't have to change as much to effectively increase the product rate.
However that means that the calibration for the product will change also.
As an example. Suppose the current gate settings is 1" and the calibration for the product is correct. Changing the gate setting to 2" would require that the calibration number for the product be changed so that the correct amount is delivered. A result of this is that the reaction time from driving slowly to speeding up would improve since a smaller change in the bed speed would be needed to deliver the proper amount.
Like any change one can go overboard. If the gating setting in the above example were increased too much this might result in difficulty in control at lower rates or speed.
