| Son found why our new to us Versy 550 wouldn't start last night. Cable that goes from inside stud on solenoid into starterwas burnt in two. Luckily mechanic who works on our semis as Los has a starter repair shop. He had the starter repaired in less than 2 hours. Said other than the cable the starter was fine. Evidently the insulation had wore thru where cable goes thru the side of the starter housing. Put starter back o and fired right up like it should. Before it always started to crank over, hesitate, then take off. There was a plastic shield that was blocking my view last night. I could see where the cable bolted to the inner solenoid stud but not the cable itself.
A big thanks to everyone who replied to my post for help last night. This is a great site with a lot of helpful people.
