Those simple masks slow down some spit, if you cough or breathe fast. They actually are more about helping out others around you then helping you, slow down what you exhale.
As well they are a good reminder to not itch your nose or mouth or eyes, and ‘oh yea’ reminder. That helps you.
Certainly they don’t filter 100% of anything going on that’s for sure.
People can wear a good N95 under those, and keep the disposable mask from needing disposing so much at this time. Not a perfect solution but in trying times with shortages folk do the best they can.
One can watch people wipe down grocery cart handles, but they all touch the dispenser with a bare hand at the same place, and then grab the cart on a front corner where thry didn’t wipe. And watch people handle car keys, cell phones, etc in between before wiping down or sanitizing......
It’s all an effort to reduce. We won’t be 100%.
