Hello everyone,
I'm wondering if any others have had this experience yet. I have a contract to produce about 50,000 bushels of malting barley for a company. Yesterday, I received an email from the office manager that they will be guaranteeing to purchase only 50% of the contracted bushels. Also, if we want out of the contract we can, or modify the amount. The problem is, I have my barley all planted.
The question is, if they can't guarantee the contract, how can I expect them to guarantee even the 50%.
It makes me wonder if they are about to fail.
Lots of this going on everywhere.....ethanol....milk. A contract means nothing right now. Don't contract or sell those bushels to anyone unless you'll be protected against theft. Know the details on your insurance
