Northwest Illinois
We are using the last of our DDG supply early next week, then adjusting our hog rations. A general rule is 100 pounds of DDGs will be replaced by 70 pounds corn and 30 pounds of beanmeal. We will also need to add monocal while we use up our current premix, which was geared for use with DDGs. We picked up a load of DDGs this past Monday. The cost as 172/ton, plus whatever we think it costs us to pick up the load ourselves. It was barely cost effective. I called Friday and wasn't given a firm price, but a range from 205-215/ton. Obviously, DDGs are no longer worthwhile in the diet.
