SE Nebraska, Near Misery and Cans Ass!

ih1566 - 3/25/2020 21:28 I’ve always been told the best time to spread lime is yesterday. But.....I’ve been told by 2 different fertility guys that if I spread lime right now that I wouldn’t get much good out of it this crop year, and they recommended spreading pellet lime now ( if it ever dries out enough) as a quick band aid approach and get the good stuff hauled and dumped in late summer or early fall while its dry. And then spread. I have a couple farms that need lime really bad, but the ground has been so soft there’s no way to get a truck in but I could have spread it if the lime was already there.

They have a lot more margin in pel lime. If only 20% of a 2 ton app is available in the first year it's still a better deal than pell lime here!
