Subject: RE: Ag bagger vs Roto press

Lancaster PA
We have a Kelly Ryan with 300ft cables. In my opinion cables aren't a big deal. We have hydraulic rewind and it only takes 25 minutes or so to wrap them put a bag on and move the backstop with a loader and be ready to go again. I have never used a rotopress but I have used Martin baggers which are a similar auger bagger. They have brakes on the bagger wheels and you also have to jam a turnbuckle type thing on the tractor brakes. Cable brakes are much easier to control and I feel like you get a much tighter pack with a finger bagger. I think the cable in the silage for resistance like the Versa baggers have is interesting as well as the ag baggers that pull the boat anchors through the silage. Has anyone on here used them? Do you need to brake the tractor at all with them?
