I agree, while the packer needs taken to the woodshed on this issue, if it does by chance lead to more money for on the hoof sales that trickle all the way down the profits will be short lived. Land cost's will go up, input cost will go up, everything. We will be back to square 1 and when there is a legitimate market disruption the market will still correct downward but nothing else will. Its a big game of who will blink first. The only way I see this coming to and end is if things get bad enough, and enough bad checks get passed around, that there is a mass exit of everything agriculture. When all the outside forces are wringing their hands of ag and running for the door and cannot get out fast enough. After the dust settles the land will still be here and maybe we can go again without outside hands in the cookie jar.
