Subject: Re: Lake of the Ozarks

+wave runners with kids driving---& big drunk kids on wave runners--and kids pulling kids on wake boards & innertubes--and guys renting boats that have very little boating experience--etc etc.

I wouldn't recommend the party cove crowd but its beyond most sane peoples comprehension the way they gather on weekends and holidays. Toured it only once(toured--in and out---not my kind of place) Well over 500 boats ----all kinds---race types--house boats--runabouts--20 to 30cigarette types all lashed together(several groups of these)--- guys floating in the water drinking beer--gals sunbathing on the boats. Was told they get to braggin/betting on their boats then race down the lake with a fleet of spectators following. One guy said his boat would burn a 100 gal an hour and that he could match any stock boat on the lake. His would run + of 75mph. Said he couldn't keep up with the nitrus oxide(sp?) boats though. Think he said they would do 100 to 125.

Last summer they were doing drag boat exhibition type runs when we were in the area. Some prodrivers in high performance boats but you could also enter your own boat and they would give you an "official" quarter mile time.
