East-Central SD | Know what mean on it wearing you down mentally and physically...missed out on this one besides the awful wind all day. Been a mud fest here for the last 3 years and the water table is so high this spring even though we haven’t had precip for a while it won’t dry out.
2018 and 2019 we have had an April blizzard (almost to the same day) that lasted 48 hrs and dropped 2 ft of snow in the heart of calving season for a lot of people including us. Really hoping to avoid the trifecta and 3 years in a row. If it does happen a lot of cattle guys say they won’t do it again for a 4th year. All I can say is hang in there and hope for drier and better days ahead. | |
