Scottville, 49454 Northwest Michigan

Personally.... I would have been thrilled to have them put their product on in the fall.  (As long as field conditions were dry.)  But in the spring..... not so much.  Just not enough time between application and planting.

On my soils prone to compaction, there likely wouldn't be enough time to utilize a chisel plow or similar tool to do the incorporation and compaction elimination.  But maybe on your lighter soils it won't be such an issue.

There will be additional benefits from the manure beyond just the nutrients being applied.  Hard to quantify those benefits though.

As far as nutrient availability..... I don't think there's much difference between the availability of nutrients from manure versus from commercial fertilizer.  So maybe on your lighter soils it will be a worthwhile and profitable to have their product applied.
