Subject: RE: Extended price contracts

Leesburg, Ohio
What am I missing here???

Since the market has moved lower, I can't imagine there were many cash-forward contracts with elevators made that are lower than today's prices. Why would anyone want out of a cash forward contract now since the market is lower? If you really want out, talk the the buyer, and arrange, if they agree, to pay it out...they would probably owe you $ less a fee for their trouble.

As I asked before, if the OP is referring to a DP contract, there is really not much to "get out of", since the elevator already has the grain, and markets are lower...what would you do, pay a load-out fee to take your grain back? And do what with it? Either way, you are still exposed to price risk.

Seems like this post is just trolling to get people stirred up....
