Lisbon, OH | Getting ready to vaccinate calves, and would like some opinions on my vaccination program. This is what we plan on giving:
Vision 7 somnus w/ spur (Cl. chauvoei, septicum, sordellii, novyi, perfringens types C and D, and Haemophilus somnus.)
Triangle 10 HB (BVD Types 1&2, PI3, BRSV, 5 most common strains of Lepto, including L. hardjo-bovis, aid in the reduction of disease due to IBR)
Endovac (E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica.)
Clostridium Perfringens Type A Toxoid Cattle Vaccine (Cl. perfringens Type A)
Tetanus Toxoid Concentrate (only bulls)
We had some issues last year with some calves losing weight, but not off feed. Just waste away to nothing. Vets couldn't figure it out. Talked to several guys around that had some yearlings and cows with the same issues. We did necropsy on one and send tons of samples out. Only thing that came back positive was for Salmonella and Clostridium Type A. That's why the added vaccines.
Looks like about $8.61 per calf/round
Any other options or suggestions I'd like to hear.
