Here's what I use for minerals, a crystalyx barrel. Salt is a 50 lb white block in a plastic tray nearby. There is zero waste using these barrels compared to high levels of waste when I used a bag mineral in a covered feeder. So cost is deceiving.

Good mineral is especially important in this time ahead of calving. I do have Mineralyx barrels out year around.
