Subject: RE: John Deere manual override sensor on 8310

If tractor was auto trac ready it will using a steering encoder inside the steering column for manual override. Trimble system will plug into this behind plastic on steering column. If a trimble valve was installed a pressure transducer is used on the diagnostic port by orbital motor for manual override. The voltages ranges and tap parameters are different for each configuration and is determined by the vehicle profile. Make sure the AT or auto tractor ready profile is used if this is a factory Deere setup with trimble nav. I can’t remember off hand what the voltage ranges would be for each but if you can’t see any change in raw values under AP toolbox then either you have the wrong profile or sensor could be bad. Will fault undervolt if not plugged in.
