Texas | I respect your desire to make things right, but my recommendation is to move on and forget it.
This goes both ways, I have had things get double scanned before. When I saw it on the receipt later, I just considered it to be a part of life.
Some time ago, I had a transaction fail at a small business. I tried to get them paid. My attempt was eventually successful, but I created a headache for myself and found out that they did not really care.
If it were a particularly large transaction, I would still try to make things right, but for the small stuff; I just move on.
