Huntley Montana
30 mi haul, you have 2-3 small towns, maybe 3-10& stop signs/lights. You have HR each way or more . 10-20 minutes weighing in, untarping, probing, dumping, weighing out, collecting ticket, using can, retarping, getting back on rd, stop for soda. Loadin time g ? Few overhead hoppers out there. 8" auger will take about 1/2 hr to load a semi, time you untarp/retarp it's 40-50 min.
& that is if everything is working RIGHT. Add in a flat/2, cleaning bins, servicing truck, BILLING TIME, insurance , Taxes, ect.
I HATE trucks, but I have to own them because when I need them so does everyone else. I own 4 grain trains, can haul 1600- 1800 bu barley ea, need them 2 weeks yr. Cann't afford to own them , but cann't afford not to own them. Hauled 1.5 millon $$$ worth of Barley in 2 weeks last yr. Normal yr that would of been 1/2 Million$$$. But I wanted the Barley in THIER BIN, ASAP.
