| The generator service contract is part of our insurance coverage for the piggies. Katolight sends someone out to check it, change filters, fluids, and it gets a new battery every year. It's the same service plant that they have for hospitals, etc. We are only 15 miles from the Katolight plant, so we don't have to pay much mileage. We don't put very many hours per year on any of our units.
We saved A LOT of money in the load share on our sow farm, but that pulled 800 amps on a summer day. They liked it when they could turn on the generator. If the generator had a problem, it would automatically kick us back on the line power. | |
