Extreme southeast Nebraska | Here is an apparent scam I discovered. I received a postcard in the mail yesterday stating that I needed to fill out MCS-150 for a biennial update of my Federal DOT registration. I have done this in the past so it didn't seem unusual until we got to the website listed and discovered they needed $99.00 to complete the process. My wife said I don't think we had to pay anything last time we did this. So we dug out the copy we had from two years ago and discovered it listed a different website address. I entered that one and got to the same site as two years ago with the same forms and NO charge for filing the form!

Some outfit is trying to make out like they're the government. They may get the forms filed for you, but are raking in $99 for something you can do yourself in half an hour.
