The AC 190 XT Series III is by far the best of the XT's. It should have the four pinion differencial. The bad rap of the 190 XT's stems from transmission issues. I ran a pair of XT's for over 10,000 hours each, transmissions had to be "opened up" at around 7,500 hours on each. The trans will "jump out" of gear in 5-6 and/or 7-8 when it gets worn. It is a not closely held secret that the factory HP rating on a 190 XT was a joke, and when a good diesel mechanic "laid his hands" on one 125 pto hp was easy, very easy. For the best transmission life doing heavy drawbar work, remember this, light and fast, 9,500 lbs and 5 mph or faster. Higher field speeds will make for massive reductions in driveline torque loads and extend driveline life markedly.
A good well maintained 190 XT Series III should last you a long time with proper "care and feeding".
